Girls' Tea Party (April, 2008)

The ‘Vintage Tea’ at Vermont Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 13, 2008 was enjoyed by approximately 70 people, sampling the teas, open-faced sandwiches and scones respectively. The atmosphere created a feeling of yester-year since many items of clothing and special treasures from our ‘Grandma’s Closet” were shared with those in attendance.
The afternoon gathering focused on one of the missions of the church—being of assistance to those in need. This year the tidy monetary sum from the offering was granted to “Passages”, a program in Richland Center that provides direct and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their children.
Each year the Evening Circle at Vermont Lutheran Church (also known as “The Ladies of the Evening:) chooses to extend their hand of fellowship and assistance to an organization needing their help, whether it be local or global. The 3rd Annual Tea will be held in the spring of 2009.
Shown above are Patty Herrling (L) and Klover Schafer (3rd from left) presenting two counselors from the organization a generous monetary gift for use in their very worthwhile work. Below are pictures taken of the tea party festivities.
